Duke headed to the championship as the hottest team in golf. The Blue Devils hung in the top four during the entire tournament and made up nine strokes in the last three holes of the final round to capture the title by six strokes. With approximately 30 family and friends in attendance, Brooks kept the Blue Devils at striking distance the first two days and on the third day Duke came alive on the back nine sinking 15 birdies on its way to shooting under-par over the final nine holes.
The back nine led Duke to a six-under-par score and an eight-stroke lead over Auburn, after going into the day with a nine-stroke deficit to the Tigers. Leading the Duke charge was sophomore Anna Grzebien with a tournament-best round of 65 and Brittany Lang with a three-under-par Grzebien catapulted to the individual lead by four strokes with 18 holes remaining. Grzebien and Duke hung on for a five-stroke team victory and one-stroke individual win in the final round.
Inthe Blue Devils were once again ranked No. After the first two days, Duke was in second place only three shots off the lead, but for the second straight year the third round was moving day for the Blue Devils. Duke went on to shoot a team-best one-under-par,and went on to take a stroke lead going into the final day.
The Blue Devils became only the second team to win three straight titles since ASU accomplished it from Duke headed to the championship as the second ranked team in the nation and trailed by eight strokes after day one. For some activities the fees may have increased and for other activities the fees may have decreased.
The fees, for the most part, are the same throughout the region with the exception for a couple of activities. A consistent school registration fee for all activities increased the student participation fee for a few activities.
Our goal is to operate each activity in the black and increase fees only if necessary. One step to limit increasing fees is to not provide refreshments at each activity unless it is specifically communicated to the chairperson by the regional office. Megan Ilertsen is the Student Activities Coordinator and will be handling all the registration and will be the main person to answer your questions. The ACSI Student Activities program offers a variety of academic and fine arts events to effectively prepare students for life so that they may acquire wisdom, knowledge, and a biblical worldview as evidenced by a lifestyle of character, leadership, service, stewardship, and worship.

Discuss these events with your faculty and related staff members. Choose Your Events Select the date and location that works best with your school calendar. Make sure the event date AND the event registration deadline appear on your master calendar. Be sure to select a first and second location choice because some events do fill up. Your event coordinator communicates with your school activities coordinator and the event chairperson the individual responsible for organizing the ACSI Student Activity at the event site.
Registration received after this date will pay the Regular Fees. The final deadline for sending all registrations is Friday, November You will receive confirmation for the events within 10 days of receipt of registration.
Distribute Confirmation Letters to Your Event Coordinators You will receive confirmation letters for each of your event coordinators. Make sure they understand the anticipated deadline and the number of adult worker requirements for that event. Passwords are provided with your confirmation. Giving the full name of your event coordinator for each event is important. The event chairperson will mail or important event information to this person.

Walt and his wife Patti lead regular pilgrimages to the lands of the Bible, including Israel, Greece and Turkey. Much of Walt s energies go into various speaking engagements and teaching WWE seminars. There are also times for them to share what is going on their school, and react to the information that has been shared with them at the conference, within their peer groups. There will be speakers, reaction groups, and informal activities planned to give a good balance of instruction and fellowship.
October 25, Time: It is designed for schools that conduct their own preliminary Science Fair, sending their top projects to the ACSI event. Each school Science Fair must be held before March 1, Student project exhibits show original research and creativity of a science problem with supporting data in one of three divisions: Life Science, Physical Science, and, Engineering high school only.
All projects must be experimental projects. Each project must include an experiment with hypothesis and scriptural integration. Projects may be done as an individual or as a team maximum of three team members.
The Coordinator s Handbook provides complete details on the specific requirements that must be met by each entry. A program of scientific interest is provided for students during private judging. The maximum number of entrants for Grades 6 8 is three 3 projects per grade level per category.
The maximum number of entrants for Grades 9 12 is five 5 projects per grade level per category. All entrants will receive a written evaluation and a rosette indicating the judging results Superior, Excellent, Good. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded to students who place 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd in each Project Division in each grade level category.

High school students participate in special workshops, labs, and presentations during the morning. A science presentation for all grades is offered in the afternoon while projects are being judged. The required number of adult workers will be communicated by the Event Chairperson. A It may be either read or memorized, at the discretion of your meet chairperson. Students must be enrolled in grade seven and eight 7 8. Middle schools may register sixth graders. Junior High selections are not available through the ACSI office; schools must develop their own library of materials for categories requiring published works. Selections must be of high literary quality that reflect a proper Christian spirit and taste.
Categories may vary within districts: At full-day events, students will participate in two rounds of judging. Specific times are determined by the meet chairperson. Every participant receives a certificate of participation.
Olympic-style medals are given for First, Second, and Third places in each category based on total points earned. The School Coordinator must accompany each school s team of students in order to handle site registration on the day of the event. Interpretation is defined as theater of the S mind. Is is not acting or moving about, as in a stage play. Reading and interpretation selections should come alive through the use of voice, facial expressions, and gestures.
Students may take one step in any direction. All presentations are timed. Students do not compete against each other, but against the score sheet. Senior High selections are not available through the ACSI office; schools must develop their own library of materials for categories requiring published works. Each school is required to provide one 1 qualified judge for every 5 entries and a time keeper. The Senior High Speech Meet is a full-day event. Presentations will be given in two rounds.
Rosette ribbons are given to all entries that are determined Superior, Excellent, or Good. Plaques are awarded to the First, Second, and Third places in each category based on total points earned. Arithmetic Computation and Mathematical Reasoning. Students in grades three through eight 3 8compete with students in their own grade level.
Each school may enter no more than 2 students in the computation category and 2 students in the reasoning category per grade level. The maximum number of students from any school is Participating schools will need to bring four 4 adults to the Olympics to assist. Two of the individuals should be teachers who will be asked to administer tests.
The others will assist as monitors and graders. All students receive a certificate of participation. Rosettes are awarded to the top five places in each grade level category. There are six sections of competition: Within each section there will be a series of 4 tests. Each test consists of 5 questions. You may allow as many students as you want to take the test.
Only the top 5 scores will be reported. Students must be enrolled in the subject area in which they are participating. Students may participate in only one category. Tests will be given between March 1 and April You have the choice of when to give the tests during that time period. A certificate of participation will be given to all students who take the tests. Ribbons will be given for the highest individual cumulative score per section in each school. Medals will be given for the highest individual cumulative score per section.
A plaque will be given to the highest school cumulative score per section. The tops scores for each category will be entered into the national competition.
The District Bees have two parts: The top four placers in the Spell-Off move on to the Regional Spelling Bee, where students spell against mixed grade levels 5 8. Students must be enrolled in grades one through eight 1 8. Each school may send one student per grade level or one student per classroom if the school has multiple classes per grade.
School level spelling bees must be completed by Thanksgiving. Student participation forms must be sent to the event Chairperson by December 1. All participants receive a certificate of participation; the top four per grade level receive rosettes. In addition, the top four spellers in grades 5 8 also receive trophies and are eligible to compete in the Regional Bee. All participants receive a certificate of participation.
The top five 5 students in the Regional Spelling Bee are eligible to participate. Information will be given to the top five students at the Regional Spelling Bee. See next page for Works that receive a Superior rating will be re-evaluated at a regional level, and select works will be included in a regional publication. All work is submitted by mail, students do not travel. A school may register a maximum of four 4 students per grade level. An average of the three scores will determine the student s merit rating.
