Upon visiting campus, I was able to meet with a track student-athlete who toured another recruit and I around the well-equipped exercise science building and told us how she planned to complete graduate school in just one year after completing her undergraduate as a student-athlete.
This was an important factor for me as it showed me that my desired major would be manageable as a student-athlete at Florida Atlantic University and it also showed me the success of this specific student in FAU's exercise science program! The coaching staff is also very personable, knowledgeable and experienced with great goals for the future of their program! And thirdly, the warm climate and beautiful location pretty much speaks for itself, leaving no room for complaints being in Boca Raton, Florida!
And finally, being from California and going to school in Florida gives me a chance to branch out, encounter a variety of new experiences and be a part of an up and coming program! I could not be more excited to start my journey at Florida Atlantic University! Sharon is a versatile swimmer.

Her best dives are on the 1m Springboard. I know that I will get a quality education, the campus is beautiful, and I love how close the school is to the ocean. It has always been my dream to compete for a Division 1 program that is located in such a beautiful place. The future teammates I've met have been really nice. Bryan is a very talented coach with a lot of experience, and I believe that I will grow as a diver and reach my full potential at Florida Atlantic University.
Rebecca's primary stroke is freestyle events. Not only is the location and school wonderful, but also I feel like I have so much potential both academically and athletically. I love the team atmosphere and can't wait for what the next four years of swimming have in store for me. They live in northwest Reno with their two cats, Spooky and Chloe.
Dave enjoys playing the drums in a local band, swimming with the Sierra Nevada Masters, listening to music, running, biking, and playing a wide variety of sports. Dave oversees the entire Reno Aquatic Club and its coaching staff, while directly coaching the Senior group.
Learning how to swim was a trait Randy picked up at an early age of 5 when he started swimming on his first summer swim team, the Crow Canyon Country Club. Randy continued to swim every summer until high school where he became a four-year letterman for the Lions at Liberty High in Brentwood, California.
He was the developmental coach during his tenure at Sparks. Randy's hobbies include biking, hiking, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors of Lake Tahoe. Randy recently wed Michelle Natzel on October 4, and is enjoying the wonderful life being a honeymooner.
His father was an officer in the U. Army, so his family moved many times throughout the United States and Europe. Norm's swimming experience began on age group swim teams in several different cities and towns.
Norm's coaching experience started at a private country club in Sunnyvale, California. He was head coach for a summer league team from He worked with the Washoe County School District Aquatics Program from and during that time was Head Coach at several different high schools. Norm's hobbies include golf, fishing, jogging, mountain biking and motorcycle riding. She started on the Sparks Piranhas and has swum for most of the coaches in this area at one time or another.
She still holds most of the school records at Hug High School. After high school, she swam for UNLV for four years. She competed as a breaststroker and sprint freestyler. During most of that time she taught swim lessons and coached.
She is currently coaching the Wooster High School swim team and has been for the past eight years. Susan has been married to Gary Schraeder, whom she met lifeguarding twelve years ago. They have two boys, a two-and-a half year old and a 4 month old. She is taking some time off teaching English and reading at Swope Middle School to raise them to the best of her ability. This gives her the time to do all of the coaching she wants.
Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Marysville, California where she spent most of her years growing up.
